How it works
Friends, partners, collaborators and communities, with the reasoning attached. Not a queue to get through.
You tell us what you are actually after
A long term relationship, marriage, something easygoing, companionship, or friendship. None of these is treated as the real answer, and you can change it whenever you like.
This matters more than anything else for who you are shown. Two people who want different things are a poor match in both directions, however much else they have in common.
You get a set, not a feed
Dusk Picks arrives in the evening: a small number of people chosen for compatibility. When you reach the end, the screen says so and stops. There is no next page, and reopening the app does not reshuffle the deck.
Every suggestion explains itself
Each person comes with what you have in common, written plainly. Shared interests, what you are both looking for, languages you both speak, whether you are in the same area.
Those reasons are built only from things you have both chosen to make visible. If you hide your age, nobody is told you are a similar age, even though it may still have counted toward why you were suggested.
Conversations start somewhere
When two people both say yes, we suggest openers drawn from something you each wrote down. No blank box, and no reason to send "hey".
What we do not do
We do not rank people with a score, because a number invites you to treat a person as a position in a list. We do not measure success by how long you stay in the app. We do not show you an infinite queue, because an infinite queue is how you end up meeting nobody.
